The scarcity of fuel has been affecting some regions of the country.

The LPG shortage Due to the national strike and the various roadblocks throughout the country, it already causes problems in some regions. The anti-government demonstrations continue and this situation worsens, which not only causes a shortage of fuel, but also a substantial increase in its price in some points of sale. Next, we will tell you what is known about the departments that are running out of the resource and the increase in rates nationwide.

In which regions are there shortages of LPG?

In recent days, reports from the Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) and from workers at supply points themselves LPG reported shortages in the following regions:

Arequipa

Due to roadblocks in the Ica region, there has been a shortage of LPG in Arequipa. In the district of Miraflores, last Tuesday long queues of vehicles were formed waiting for fuel in the vicinity of a tap, according to the 24 Hours of Panamericana newscast. Likewise, in said region there are some establishments that have placed signs announcing that they no longer have LPG.

tacna

This Wednesday morning, the same situation was reported in Tacna: long lines of taxis in front of a tap waiting for a refueling. In the city of the same name, LPG has already run out in several establishments. The origin of the shortage is the blockades on the Panamericana Sur highway.

Mother of God

Last Monday, Osinergmin carried out operations at various taps in Puerto Maldonado, in Mother of God, to verify fuel inventories and monitor that establishments comply with reporting their updated prices. Thus, it was reported that the establishments no longer have a sufficient stock of fuel, after blockades at different points of the access road to Puerto Maldonado.

Ica

Another Osinergmin monitoring identified that, on January 24 and 25, the cities of Ica, Palpa and Nasca would no longer have gasoholes, diesel, vehicular LPG and gas cylinders due to roadblocks. According to the entity, although in the previous days the fuel supply in Ica had not been affected due to the fact that the tankers entered the city through the Carhuaz highway, the blockade of this road in the early hours of January 24 ended up closing all possible access to the city of Ica.

What prices does LPG reach due to shortages?
