Getting out of the economic, health and social crisis that we face as a country requires the support of all Peruvians. We need an active citizenry, efficient authorities and also a committed business community. The world today demands entrepreneurs capable of achieving a transformation in their area of influence and even the country. Generating employment, respecting sustainability and generating well-being for its stakeholders are principles of companies committed to sustainability, whose activities bring benefits for all.
This new way of doing business is one of the axes of the edition of the Bicentennial of CADE Executives, a forum organized by the IPAE Business Association between November 16 and 18. To learn more about this philosophy, the event will include the testimonies of international business leaders, who will share their experiences in generating shared value for their businesses and their communities at the same time.
One of these sessions is “The private sector and its stakeholders, building together”, by Ramón Mendiola (Costa Rica), CEO of FIFCO, a leading company in the beverage industry. This exhibition aims to publicize the importance of promoting business leadership to achieve financial, environmental and social goals.
Thus, a case of business leadership with purpose in times of pandemic will be presented, replicable in the Peruvian reality, which reveals that it is possible from the business to achieve, in addition to financial goals, a positive impact on stakeholders – collaborators, clients, suppliers, community, environment-, that help to consolidate a sustained operation over time.
For his part, Jim Hemerling (United States), Managing Director and Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group will lead the session “Building business advantages in times of new challenges.” This session will focus on making known what new business strategies are key to apply to prosper in a time of social tension, economic nationalism and technological revolution.
This session will seek to understand how social tension, economic nationalism, the technological revolution and the impact of the pandemic have transformed the world and impacted companies, and what strategies require implementing these in their operations, organization and growth to build advantages that overcome these challenges and allow to deliver returns to all stakeholders.
Dane Smith (United States), CEO of FSG, will also be present at the session “Companies that Transform Peru: Shared Value to develop the country”. FSG is the organization founded by renowned Harvard University professors Michael Porter and Mark Kramer to help other companies and organizations develop business shared value strategies. During his presentation, the FSG representative will delve into how companies can improve their competitiveness by helping to solve social problems under a Shared Value approach.
Finally, Mariana Rodríguez, president of CADE Executives 2020, will lead the session “Entrepreneurs committed to the development of Peru”, in which the importance of having Peruvian entrepreneurs united to promote the development and well-being of all will be announced. This session will also have the participation of a diversity of national and regional representatives: CONFIEP, Association of Small Business Associations PYME PERU, COMEX, Perucámaras, Cajamarca Chamber of Commerce and Production, AGAP and the Lima Chamber of Commerce.
