Income Tax (IR) collection grew by 66.6% in April compared to the same month of 2021, mainly due to the higher payments for regularization of the IR of legal entities corresponding to the taxable year 2021, which reached a record level for the month between 2003 and 2022, reported the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).
Income collected from natural persons increased by 52.6% between April 2021 and the same month of 2022, registering increases in all income categories, mainly second category (dividends), due to withholdings on the distribution of profits and dividends , and fifth category (income from salaried work).
While the collection of legal entities grew by 55.5% compared to the same month of 2021. Payments on account of domiciled legal entities increased by 56% year-on-year, while payments from non-domiciled taxpayers rose by 53%.
Likewise, income from IR regularization increased by 78.9% year-on-year, due to higher profits in taxable year 2021.
In January-April 2022, Income Tax collection grew by 54% compared to the same period in 2021. Income from the tax on natural persons rose by 37.7%, and on legal persons it did so by 32.1%. , and regularization at 98.8%.
