The collection of general sales tax (IGV) increased by 18.2% in April compared to the same month of 2021, both due to higher income from VAT on imports and from internal VAT, registering 15 months of consecutive growth.

Internal VAT collection grew by 15% year-on-year in April, mainly reflecting the higher level of economic activity.

For its part, income from VAT on imports reported a year-on-year growth of 22.1%, a result that is explained by the increase in transactions of this type, mainly fuels, lubricants and related products, raw materials for industry, materials premiums for agriculture and, to a lesser extent, transport equipment, non-durable consumer goods and equipment for industry.
