The Social Health Insurance (Essalud) increased from 3,000 to 5,000 the number of CAS positions that will be convened at the national level to hire health personnel, which will reduce the gap in human resources and optimize health care for the thousands of insured .
The executive president of Essalud, Alegre Raúl Fonseca Espinoza, said that it is necessary to hire more doctors, nurses, medical technologists and other health professionals to cover the existing demand for care in health establishments.
“Initially, the call was for 3,000 places, but we have decided to increase the number of health professionals that we are going to hire to 5,000, via CAS, to reinforce primary care and decongest hospitals that treat more complex cases,” he indicated.
This became known during a visit to Junín, where Essalud announced the construction of a modular hospital in Río Negro, a project in which close to S/ 40 million will be invested and will benefit more than 19,000 insured members of the Junín Assistance Network.
Fonseca supervised the land of more than 18,000 square meters, adjacent to Hospital I Río Negro, where it is planned to build the future hospital that will have state-of-the-art equipment and specialized personnel.
He announced that in addition to medical services, the modular hospital will have a laboratory and a warehouse to store vaccines and medicines. Likewise, a center for the elderly (CAM) will be built on the land.
“Hospital I Río Negro has been in operation for 22 years and it is time to expand its infrastructure with a modular hospital to provide better care to our insured brothers in Satipo. We have the land and we hope to have it ready by the end of the year”, he specified.
