The workers of the residences of Navarra carry out this Saturday a new day of strike framed in the negotiation for the first agreement of the sector. In that sense, Josetxo Sent, from the ELA union, declared that “it is time to move from acknowledgment and applause to deeds”. He declared this before the demonstration called in Pamplona by the unions ELA, CCOO, LAB and UGT under the motto “Recognize our work, agreement now!”.

The unions have called for a strike at a time when the negotiation is “at a very distal point” between the parties, since “the employers leave little room for agreement and the Government of Navarra is not sufficiently involved”.

Next Thursday a new meeting of the negotiating table will be held in which, “if the employers do not offer an agreement for the benefit of the nearly 6,000 workers“, the unions do not rule out raising “more frequent” strikes.

As Mandado explains, what the workers are asking for is an agreement that gradually ends looking a lot like the public sector, “because same work, same conditions”. “This is a public service, although the Government of Navarra refers it to a private one”, she pointed out.

The unions demand Navarre Governmentas holder of Social Rights, to be more involved in the negotiations and to finance the agreement.
