Frankfurt squanders chance to close in on leaders Bayern; Borussia Dortmund wins comeback

This Wednesday, Frankfurt wasted the chance to approach the leader Bayern Munich. Against Freiburg, Frankfurt drew 1-1, in a duel valid for the 17th round of the German Championship. Thus, the team has 31 points, six away from first place, in fourth place.

In the next round, Eintracht Frankfurt duel with Bayern, on Saturday, at 2:30 pm (Brasília time). Freiburg, in turn, duels with Augsburg, on the same day at 11:30 am.

Frankfurt opened the scoring only in the 42nd minute. Kolo Muani received from Goetze and sent a bomb to Freiburg’s goal, with no chance for the goalkeeper. Thus, the visitors had the advantage for the break.

In the second half, Freiburg left everything the same as the three minutes; Gunter saw Mathias Ginter inside the area, crossed to the right and the number 28 sent Ramaj in the right corner.

Borussia Dortmund wins comeback

Earlier, Dortmund also entered the field for the 17th round of the German. At Mewa Arena, Terzic’s team beat Mainz 05 by 2-1.

The home team opened the scoring after just two minutes of play. Jae-Sung Lee headed in a corner kick from inside the area. Dortmund, in turn, responded soon after and left everything the same.

Ryerson received it at the edge of the area and shot at Dahmen’s goal. The ball still deflected in the Mainz defense before swinging the net. The visitors took the win in injury time, when Giovanni Reyna took advantage of Haller’s pass and turned the scoreboard.

With this result, Dortmund reached 31 points, occupying the fifth position. On the other side, Mainz is in 12th place, with 20 points. In the next round, Borussia Dortmund will play Leverkusen, away from home, at 1:30 pm (Brasília time) this Sunday, Meanwhile, Mainz will play Bochum, on Saturday, at 11:30 am.
