Les Luthiers announce their final retirement from the stage, claiming their age: “Mastropiero deserves to rest”; but they do not rule out that others continue his legacy

The last two active members of the Argentine humor and music group Les Luthiers presented a statement announcing that they will do their farewell tour through various cities in Argentina, Latin America and Europe. Carlos López Puccio and Jorge Maronna say that they are fine, but their ages tell them that it is time.

It must be remembered that in the early years other musicians and comedians were part of Les Luthiers, among them gerardo masanafounder, composer and arranger, died 1973; Ernest Achernow a bandleader, who retired in 1986, but on good enough terms to attend the group’s 40th anniversary in 2007.
