Topsy Majestik ice cream is passed to Toni and the vanilla variant is added

The Tonicorp company manages two brands: Toni and Topsy and seeks to expand its product portfolio.

Topsy’s traditional Majestik ice cream they are now part of Toni’s portfolio. Both brands are owned by Tonicorp, an Arca Continental company and The Coca-Cola Company.

The relaunch of Toni Majestik Manjar took place last July and with it the vanilla variant was added.

In total, Toni now has two ice cream presentations: regular with the delicacy and exotic vanilla flavors, and the mini one in exotic vanilla flavor.

Both presentations are made with 100% Toni milk and a chocolate coating made of fine cocoa with an Ecuadorian aroma. And they are sold in supermarkets, neighborhood stores and supermarkets in the country.

“Toni Majestik ice creams are characterized by their delicious flavor and quality with which they are made,” says Alfredo Rodríguez, Marketing Director at Tonicorp, who indicates that the product has been widely accepted nationwide.

Rodríguez anticipates that in the short term a expansion plan to carry out the first exports of the portfolio to international markets.

Toni’s ice creams, with a content of 105 milliliters, are manufactured in the dairy plant located in La Aurora, in Guayaquil. No new machinery has been incorporated for its production, as it is used for Topsy ice cream.

“Toni Majestik is a premium product manufactured with high-quality ingredients, Ecuadorians, in turn, always working responsibly in search of sustainability together with dairy and cocoa unions in the country,” emphasizes Rodríguez.

The Tonicorp company has 290 varieties of products in categories such as yogurt, flavored milk, oatmeal, cheese, ice cream, gelatin, milk delicacy, among others.

Its other brand of ice cream Topsy maintains a 100% Ecuadorian production since 1986 and has a portfolio of 44 products such as refreshing popsicles, milk and cream, cones, snacks, cakes, liter ice cream and others.

According to Rodríguez, Topsy will also present innovations with flavored, creamy and textured ice cream.

The ice creams for the Toni and Topsy brands are produced in parallel.

In Ecuador, it is estimated that there are more than 150 references of ice cream products among the main brands, an important part of it moves in the paletería segment, the one that the buyer demands the most. It is estimated that paletería represents between 70% and 80% of the ice cream business.

During 2019 it is estimated that the country consumed more than 300 million popsicles a year, which could represent a per capita of 18 for each inhabitant, without considering ice cream in pots or frozen cakes. Last year, due to the pandemic, it is estimated that the fall was 15%.(I)
