The Ministry of Culture (Mincul) It approved free admission to the 56 museums it manages on the anniversary days of their creation or inauguration. Said benefit, applicable throughout 2023, is aimed at all national and foreign visitors residing in the country.
Ministerial Resolution No. 000031-2023-MC aims to promote domestic tourism. For this, it has the visas of the Vice Ministerial Office of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries, the General Directorate of Museums and the General Office of Legal Advice of the Mincul.
The General Directorate of Museums provides the corresponding actions to comply with free admission to the 56 museums, and the decision is notified to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
“The National Culture Policy for 2030 establishes that the Ministry of Culture must implement mechanisms for citizen participation in the development of cultural policies,” the resolution states.
The National Culture Policy to 2030created by Supreme Decree No. 009-2020-MC, is a document that supports public action on cultural rights and allows strategies and interventions to be integrated, aligned and coherent with the purpose of better serving citizens.
The purpose of this directive is to promote greater exercise of cultural rights, guaranteeing the access, participation and contribution of citizens in cultural life.
In order to promote internal tourism, the competent authorities may establish promotional rates for admission to protected natural areas or assets that are part of the Cultural Heritage of the Nation in certain periods, which must be communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism. or to the competent regional body for dissemination.
It should be noted that, in Peru, there are 56 museums registered in the National System of Mincul Museums, 13 of which are in Lima, 14 in the north of the country, 14 in the center and another 15 in the south.
