Gipuzkoa will begin this Monday to collect the fee for use for heavy goods transport vehicles

Gipuzkoa will begin this Monday to collect the use fee for heavy goods transport vehicles on the roads A-15 Y N-1 Of the territory.

Thus, the trucks that circulate through those 76 kilometers will have to pay the canon established by the Provincial Council. In the case of the N-1, they will do so through the collection arches located in Etxegarate, Ordizia, Tolosa, Andoain and Lasarte; and those who circulate on the A-15, in Astigarraga and Belabieta.

The new toll will be added to those already established throughout the Gipuzkoa high-capacity network in compliance with the new Provincial Regulation which includes all the sections of the N-1 and the A-15, and replaces the one that was in force between 2018 and 2021. It is a fee based on the section model that was annulled by the courts after declaring it discriminatory .

With the entry into force of the collection of new toll for heavy vehiclesthe new discount plan will be fully deployed.

Trucks and cranes with efficient engines will benefit from discounts ranging from from 15% to 25% on the rate, depending on the type of engine. To this discount will be added in October the frequency discount, which includes discounts of up to 13%.

The National Federation of Transport Associations of Spain Fenadismer denounced this Saturday that the new tolls mean a “brutal and disproportionate increase” of the amount for driving through this territory. The Hiru union, for its part, points out that the cost of the new toll will be passed on to the consumer.
