A reference to the labor movement on the left bank, he was born in 1928 in Getxo. He participated in the constitution of the first Workers’ Commission of Bizkaia in the Church of La Aneja in 1963.

This Sunday he passed away at the age of 95 David Morin Salgadohistoric trade unionist born in Getxo who dedicated his life to labor movement.
At the end of the 40s he was a member of the PCE and was one of the founders of CC.OO. in Biscay. Later, he also joined the PSOE.
Metallurgist, he worked at Beltrán y Casado, a company located in the current Deusto ikastola. It was a company that manufactured the first refrigerators in its workshops and one of the first factories where, from the late 50s, factory commissions began to be organized.
In an interview given in 2015 together with the also historical Periko Solabarria, he recounted that in the clandestine times he had met in the mountains “with more than 1000 workers.”
More than once he put his physical integrity at risk in the fight for workers’ rights and was imprisoned for it.
“To the young people of today I would tell them to fight, that without a fight there are no possibilities” ended the interview on ETB.
