Osinergmin updates table of Violations and Sanctions in Mining Safety

The Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) updated the Table of Classification of Violations and Sanctions in Mining Safety, in order to adapt its content to current regulations.

Through resolution No. 003-2023-OS/CD, the regulatory body reported that citizens and mining companies will be able to identify the obligations required for operations to comply with safety standards “for the benefit of the industry and the public.”

The incorporation of three offenses in the new document stands out. Two of them refer to breaches in the presentation of information, with a liable fine of 9.05 UIT (S/44,797.5).

Likewise, Osinergmin warns of a third infraction related to non-compliance with detailed engineering of civil works in mining transport. In the latter case, if this type of non-compliance is verified, the mining company could pay up to 1,939 UIT (S/9 million 598,050).

“Osinergmin reiterates that it maintains permanent supervision of mining operations at the national level,” said the authority.
