The Basque exhibitor at Fitur, the best of all the communities

The Basque exhibitor at the Madrid International Tourism Fair has received the award for best stand in the category of Institutions and Autonomous Communities for its “innovative design and innovative use of new technologies”.

The pavilion recovers the style of theaters from the middle of the last century in its design with the aim of framing this year’s motto: “Euskadi, the stage of gastronomy”. Likewise, it includes a technological claim at the entrance of the same to taste the attention of the visitor, to whom it proposes a sensory journey that goes from the product to the plate.

The path begins with the water and through an immersive entrance the visitor experiences the rain sensorially, to later discover the landscape heritage and natural wealth of the Basque Country, where the quality product is based. The tour ends in a semi-open kitchen in the form of a great theater showing the visitor one of the main strengths of the Basque Country: its internationally recognized gastronomy.

The Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Consumption, Javier Hurtado, has expressed his satisfaction with the recognition. He highlighted that “the jury has recognized Euskadi’s commitment to a innovative design, with an innovative use of new technologies and that adapts to the varied, rich, quality, and innovative offer of our community”.

Gastronomy, as Hurtado has remarked, is “one of the main tourist attractions of the Basque Country” and, for this reason, he specified, the design of the stand “aspires to capture the visitor’s journey through our territory until they reach the tasty goal that is the product tasting.
