Midagri: Minister Nelly Paredes asks merchants not to speculate on food prices

“I want to inform and call the population of Lima to calm down regarding the food supply,” began the head of the midagri. Paredes pointed out that on January 19 10,200 tons of food (7,600 of vegetables and 2,600 of fruits) entered the Santa Anita Wholesale Market No. 1; and, similarly, 2,600 tons of fruit entered Wholesale Fruit Market No. 2, in La Victoria.

“In addition to this, I want to inform you that the price of potatoes, tomatoes and carrots, today, have dropped by three points,” added Minister Paredes. For this reason, the head of Midagri made a call to the merchants of the supply centers. “Work together with us that peace, not speculating with prices”, he requested.
