More than 15 days after Law 31454 was published, which ensures the implementation and execution of the absolute return of money from the National Housing Fund (Fonavi), the ad hoc commission in charge of making the measure operational has not yet been able to be installed.

Luis Luzuriagapresident of the National Federation of Fonavistas (Fenaf), told La República that this delay in the installation is due to the fact that the Executive has not yet appointed its four representatives in the ad hoc commission (three from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and one of the ONP).

“There is a subtraction of wanting not to comply with the law”, the leader stated.

Given this, Luzuriaga indicated that today they will have a meeting with officials from the FEM to send them again your request for the installation of said working group. If the Executive does not abide by the law, the Fonavistas will file legal measures for non-compliance with said regulations.

It is important to specify that, according to the law, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) is responsible for ensuring that the processes and procedures to abide by the norm are complied with.

“If they (the MEF) don’t want to, we are going to install ourselves with the support of the Congress because we must comply with the law. Failure to return is illicit appropriation.” pointed out the leader, who specified that there are almost 2 million former contributors who are waiting for the return of their contributions to be made effective.
