A photo of two-time world champion, Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva was included in the announcement of the 2026 Winter Olympics. The note is posted on the official website of the tournament.

A photo of Medvedeva taken during the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang was posted on the page with a preview of the figure skating competition. At the tournament in South Korea, the athlete won two silver medals. The 2026 Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from 6 to 22 February.

In the photo gallery, she was replaced by Japanese Kaori Sakamoto, who won bronze. Shcherbakova reacted to the incident with the phrase “I sincerely believe that everyone is equal in sports.”
