Agro-exports registered US$ 1,043 million between January and November: an increase of 15.9%

Peruvian agricultural exports, between traditional and non-traditional, totaled US$ 8,813 million between January and November 2022, an increase of 15.9% compared to what was dispatched in the same period of the previous year, specified the Foreign Trade Society of Peru (Comex). Peru).

In the first eleven months of 2022, agricultural shipments (traditional) reached US$1,230 million (+79.9%), while agricultural and/or agro-industrial shipments amounted to US$7,583 million (+9.6%). .

Comex specified that the main destinations in this period were the United States, which concentrated 34% of the total with purchases of more than US$ 2,981 million (+20.6%); and the Netherlands, with US$ 1,174 million (-1.6%) and a 13% share of the total.

Other important markets were Spain with US$ 480 million (+5.1%), representing 5% of the total; Ecuador with US$ 398 million (+52%), concentrated 5% of the total; Germany with US$ 338 million (+42.8%), participated with 4% of the total; China with 336 million (+69.4%); others, US$ 3,107 million (+11.6%).

During the analyzed period of 2022, the transport route most used by Peruvian agro-exports was maritime with a value of US$ 7,799 million (+15.3%), representing 88.5% of the total; followed by road with US$702 million (+29.9%), and air with US$313 million (+5.3%).

The main non-traditional agricultural and/or agro-industrial products exported between January and November were: fresh blueberries, for US$ 1,289 million (+18.9%); fresh grapes, for US$ 946 million (+10.8%); avocados US$ 893 million (-11.6%); fresh or refrigerated asparagus US$ 328 million (-7.6%); and prepared for animal feed US$ 243 million (+41.2%).
