The head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), Eduardo García Birimisa, promised, in a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Workers of the Manufacturing Industry and Related Services of Peru (FETRIMAP), which in its management will prioritize social dialogue and respect labor rights.
“In my administration, the fundamental labor rights of the workers will be protected,” the official emphasized in the appointment after affirming, in addition, that the defense of the syndical freedom. During the meeting, the FETRIMAP leaders expressed their concern regarding the political direction of the Government in relation to the labor rights.
In response to this, the head of the sector stressed that “the basis of our management is social dialogue.” In this sense, García Birimisa confirmed that from his office The legal defense of the sector will continue on Supreme Decree No. 001-2022-TR and No. 014-2022-TR, referring to the regulation of the outsourcing service, as well as the modification of the regulation of the Law of Collective Labor Relations, respectively.
The minister also highlighted the importance of respecting the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO). “International conventions, in the field of human rights, are norms of constitutional rank that must be complied with,” he added.
“These spaces for dialogue will continue to achieve mutual understanding,” said Minister García after meeting with FETRIMAP leaders with whom he exchanged ideas and appreciations on labor regulations.
Likewise, the workers welcomed the willingness of Minister García to clarify any type of doubt regarding the guidelines of the labor policy that will be implemented from the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE).
