Recognition Bonus 2023: who will be the beneficiaries and when would the payment start?

This Monday, January 9, the Congress of the Republic sent to the Executive the autograph with the bill of the Recognition Bonus 2023, which is waiting to be signed by the president Dina Boluarte or, otherwise, it is observed, with a maximum term of the 30th of this month. If it is not promulgated on the indicated date, Parliament could get it approved by insistence.

In this sense, it is expected that this multi-party initiative promoted by the president of the Commission on the Economy, Banking, Finance and Financial Intelligence, rosangella barbaranof the bench of Fuerza Popular is officialized this summer.

Who will receive the 2023 Recognition Bonus?

People who are currently affiliated with the AFP and who have contributed for a minimum period of 48 months (four years) to the ONP between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2020, always taking into account that they have been transferred to the Private System until July 31, 2021.

In this way, it is expected that the measure will benefit 115,189 affiliates who in the last two decades gave up their contributions when they changed their pension fund system.

Additionally, those citizens who currently seek to change from the State pension system (ONP) to the private one (AFP) will be considered.

When will the Recognition Bonus be delivered?

If promulgated, the Executive Power will issue a supreme decree ratified by the MEF, so that in a period not exceeding 12 months, in which the requirements and conditions are established so that people can access their money. For this, the SBS must indicate the procedures so that all affiliates access their right to the bonus.

Likewise, it is necessary to indicate that this initiative will demand a cost of S/752 million, which will be deposited in the individual accounts of pensioners upon retirement.
