The head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), Aníbal Torres, stated that fuel prices have not been able to have the expected drop because the monopolies of the taps have not complied with transferring said reduction after the exoneration of the Selective Tax to the Consumption (ISC) to some gasohols and gasoline.

“We have exempted fuels from the Selective Consumption Tax, and what have the monopolies of the taps done, they have lowered it a little and others have not lowered anything,” said the head of the PCM at a press conference.

The official also indicated that, in an extraordinary situation like the one that Peru and the world are going through, the tap stations should have transferred the exemption from the ISC in the final price of fuel.

“In an extraordinary situation like the one we live in, they should [los grifos] reduce the price of fuels in the same proportion of the ISC. LThe monopolies are the ones that exercise this tremendous power that also want, of course, to dominate the political power”Torres sentenced.
