Recognition bond: Congress sent the signature of the law to the Executive branch for its promulgation

The Congress of the republic This afternoon, the autograph of the Law that proposes a recognition bonus for contributors and ex-contributors of the Pension Standardization Office (ONP) who have decided or decide to move to the Private Pension System (SPP) was sent to the Executive Power.

The autograph of the law was sent after the president of Parliament José Williams Zapata signed the initiative. “The wish is that you feel safe and have hope that your pensions will improve. Having economic peace of mind is important, for their families, for their children,” the head of the Legislature told the retired present at the ceremony.

In turn, the president of the Commission for the Economy, Banking, Finance and Financial Intelligence, Rosangella Barbarán, from the bank of people forceaffirmed that this initiative does not intend to give anything to members, but to give them back what they unfairly lost.

“It is not State money, as they want to make you believe, it is money from the workers who have lost their life savings,” Barbarán added.

What is the new recognition bonus?

The recognition bonus recently approved in Congress seeks to repay the contributions of those affiliated with the National Pension System – the ONP – who migrated to the Private AFP System from 2002 onwards. Previously, the cutoff for these bonds was at 1992, 1996 and 2001.

AFP affiliates who have contributed to the ONP, at least, 48 months (four years) between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2020, and provided they have been transferred to the Private System until July 31, 2021.

In total, 115,189 affiliates who in the last two decades have lost their contributions when changing their pension system will benefit, estimates Oscar Alarconpresident of Cenajupe.
