Sacyr bids for the construction of a hospital in Canada worth more than 670 million

The Spanish company Sacyr has entered the bid to build a hospital in Canada valued at 1 billion Canadian dollars (672 million euros at current exchange rates), in a consortium with two local groups and against two large Canadian construction companies such as EllisDon and PCL Constructors. The objective? Expand its expansion plan in the country for the construction of new infrastructures.

Thus, the Spanish construction company continues to bid for projects abroad, as marked by its latest strategic plan, especially in Canada, where it was recently awarded its first two contracts to expand a rail corridor by 50.5 million euros.

In this case, according to the latest market update published by the Ontario State Infrastructure Agency, the construction of the hospital in South Niagara it will have an approximate capital cost of 672 million euros. The winner, who will not be known until the end of 2022, will be in charge of designing, building, financing and maintaining this hospital infrastructure in the municipality adjacent to the famous Niagara Falls.

The company chaired by Manuel Manrique attends the tender in consortium with local companies Amico and SNC-Lavalin. The other two seeded groups are made up of EllisDon, which is presenting alone, and a consortium made up of Plenary Americas and PCL Constructors.

Expansion plan

In its push to expand within the Canadian market to deal with the impact of the coronavirus crisis, Sacyr It is establishing contacts with local companies with which to gradually introduce itself in the country for the construction of infrastructures in which it already has experience in Spain and other markets.
