Osinergmin: reference fuel prices continue to rise

The Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) reported that the reference prices of most petroleum-derived fuels recorded their second general rise of the year on Monday, January 9.

In this way, the gallon of gasohol 90 went from S/9 to S/9.26; and gasohol 95 rose from S/9.38 to S/9.66. Both are the most used fuels in Peru.

For its part, gasohol 84 scored a takeoff that goes from S/8.28 to S/8.50; meanwhile, gasohol 97 rose from S/9.62 to S/9.92.

For its part, Diesel B5 with less than 2,500 parts per million (ppm) of sulfur stood at S/12.60, slightly higher than S/12.53 of the previous week; meanwhile, the presentation that goes from 2,500 – 5,000 ppm fell from S/9.26 to S/9.07.

Industrial oil, used in boilers, showed a reduction unlike other fuels. Osinergmin reported that Industrial Oil 6 went from S/6.63 to S/6.56; meanwhile, the Industrial Oil 500 fell from S/6.52 to S/6.47.

Finally, the price per kilogram of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), used in bulk in vehicles and packaged for cooking food, increased from S/2.07 to S/2.15. The dollar was stable for the present update.

The reference prices of fuels are used at the wholesale level by the main suppliers of the market (Petroperú and Repsol), to later be transferred with the recharge corresponding to taxes and operating costs to the market, through the taps.

Normally, faucet purchase inventories do not last more than 2 or 3 days, so this new increase in fuels should be reflected before this weekend.
