Cervecería Nacional signs investment contract for USD 100 million to reactivate its value chain

As part of this investment contract, Cervecería Nacional undertook to generate new jobs, in a period of 6 years.

Cervecería Nacional and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries (MPCEIP) signed an investment contract for USD 100 million, to promote the economic reactivation of the beer industry and its value chain.

The aforementioned contract was signed by the Minister of Production, Julio José Prado, in accordance with the prior commitment signed in New York on September 21 by the President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, and the CEO of Anheuser Busch InBev, Michel Doukeris.

“The signing of this investment contract for $ 100 million reaffirms Anheuser Busch InBev’s vision of optimism and confidence towards Ecuador, it also reaffirms the commitment that, 134 years ago, Cervecería Nacional assumed with the development of the beer industry and its positive effect multiplier throughout its value chain, through which it contributes to the progress of the country, ”said José Luis González, President of Cervecería Nacional.

Anheuser Busch InBev is the leading company in the world beer market and majority shareholder of Cervecería Nacional in Ecuador. The investment will be destined mainly to the creation of new production lines, development of innovations, digital platforms, generation of new jobs and reactivation of the more than 150 thousand small enterprises that are part of its value chain.

Investment contracts provide incentives to encourage investment in the country, guarantee tax stability and protect other benefits contemplated in the Organic Code of Production, Trade and Investments (COPCI) and the complementary regulations that are in force in the country.

As part of this investment contract, Cervecería Nacional undertook to generate new jobs, in a period of 6 years.
