Ecuador is getting ready to live the last days of the year with various traditions such as burning the stick figures and going around the block with a suitcase.
The last weekends of December are not working days due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Why in the next three years Ecuador will have 11 holidays even though the original days are marked on weekends
According to the law on holidays, in force since 2016, the country has eleven days of rest annually at the national level that are not recovered: January 1, Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Good Friday, May 1, May 24, August, October 9, November 2 and 3 and December 25.
In addition, in each province one day is added for local holidays, for a total of twelve holidays.
The rest planned for this December will be Saturday 31 since this will join the Sunday 1 and Monday 2 January as part of the break provided by the Government. (YO)
