Christmas Eve and Christmas set the tone for companies that launched special editions for this season. Some adjust their processes to meet the high demand for the most consumed products on this date, such as panettones, whose production -according to a report by Moderna Alimentos- increases significantly in the national industry from November, to such a point that several companies are forced to adapt their facilities.
The company assured that from an economic point of view, the manufacture of panettones generates benefits for various productive sectors. “The entire value chain is energized, suppliers of raw materials and local inputs such as: eggs, delicacies, candied fruits, yeast, sweet dough, butter, flavorings and essences increase their production and marketing,” explained María Gabriela Rodríguez, Business Manager Bakery from Moderna Alimentos, who added that companies in the segment annually establish alliances as strategic partners to launch innovative products related to the season.

In the case of Moderna Alimentos, the co-branding is carried out with Paccari and Manicho for the production of the Gourmet Pacari and Panettone Moderna Manicho panettones.
Rodríguez assured that each year the chocolate panettones and the traditional ones with raisins and candied fruits are the most desired by Ecuadorian consumers. For this reason, the industry has innovated in the creation of panettones with chocottone that includes a spongy chocolate dough with a chocolate chip filling.
On the other hand, Tonicorp, a company of Arca Continental and The Coca-Cola Company, launched the campaign A Sweet Christmas Gift, where it presents the Christmas editions of Big Bar Blanco and Cono Flama, ice creams made with 100% Toni Milk.
The limited edition Big Bar is made of cookie and cream ice cream, liquid chocolate center and topped with white chocolate and chocolate chips.
For its part, the traditional Cono Flama de Toni presents its white chocolate version, it is filled with chocolate ice cream, covered in white chocolate and cereal.
“We always think about innovating and providing new experiences to customers, analyzing the best option to generate closeness at important times of the year. We are sure that through this Christmas innovation we deliver to our consumers a product in keeping with the ideal season as a gift for those special people”, highlighted Alfredo Rodríguez, Tonicorp Marketing Director.
