The Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin), informed that the rates of the Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) will have a price reduction. The variation in favor of users will be -1.08% for commercial and industrial and -3.38% for residential users as of Thursday, November 4, 2021.
This variation in favor of users responds to the quarterly settlement of the balances of contracts between electricity generation and distribution companies. Likewise, Osinergmin remarked that they have the responsibility of calculating electricity rates each month and that “for this it is based on macroeconomic factors, formulas and pre-established values in the sectoral norms.”

Regarding transmission, they pointed out that the “adjustment responds to the quarterly update of the additional charges that allow compensating the contracts of the cold reserve plants, the generation premium with renewable energy resources; the unit charge per FISE and the electricity generation capacity ”.
While in terms of distribution, they affirmed that the update responds to the annual application of the economy of scale factors in Fixed Charges and in the Value Added of Distribution.
