Safe Travels: Huaral receives sanitary seal as a tourist destination

Huaral received this Thursday the international Safe Travels seal, awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), by complying with biosafety protocols in the midst of a pandemic.

There are 20 service providers – including hotels, restaurants and travel agencies – and four Huaralino tourist destinations that are classified as safe and healthy for tourism.

The four tourist destinations that received the award are the Rupak archaeological site, located in the Atavillos Altos district; the Municipal Museum of Chancay, located in the port district of Chancay; the Castillo de Chancay, located in the district of the same name and the ecological community Eco Truly Park, located in the district of Aucallama.

“It is an important incentive for the recovery of confidence in travelers,” said José Espinoza Huertas, representative of Mincetur.

For her part, Rosa Elena Balcázar, coordinator of the technical team for the recognition of the Huaura – Huaral Tourist Destination, pointed out that they now aim to promote Huaral as a destination to spend the night and not only as a full day.

“Knowing the tourist attractions that Huaral offers, it will demand the tourist to stay for at least two days. It is the commitment that we have in the private sector to work with the public sector to achieve this objective ”, he said.

Likewise, he announced that for next year another 20 establishments in Huaral and Huaura would receive the Safe Travels seal after complying with all the biosafety requirements among other requirements established by the authorities.

Finally, he assured that after completing the studies of the area in the Rupak Historic Sanctuary, located in the Huaral mountain range, “in a couple of years” the basic tourism infrastructure could be available and the next step is “to have a cable car that it would be a dream come true for the province ”.
