Health will have 4,352 million euros in 2022, 4% more than the previous year and will dedicate 185 million next year to overcome the covid-19 pandemic.
Osakidetza plans to call in December a new Public Employment Offer (OPE) with 1499 spaces, 1470 of open process and 29 of internal promotion, whose tests could be carried out between the months of April or May 2022, as advanced this Thursday in the Basque Parliament by the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagardui.
The counselor has recognized the high interim that exists in Osakidetza and has reiterated that she hopes to approve before the end of the year a new OPE corresponding to the year 2021 that is being negotiated with the unions.
In her appearance this morning at the Finance and Budgets Committee of the Basque Parliament, the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagardui, detailed the Budget Law Project relating to her Department for 2022.
Thus, the Department of Health of the Basque Government will have a budget of 4352 million euros, a 4% more than in the previous year (168.1 million euros more).
In addition, the Department of Health will allocate next year 185.4 million euros to deal with covid-19 and “overcome” a pandemic whose evolution is currently on the rise with a cumulative incidence of 90 cases in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants.
Sagardui has indicated that it is a budget to “overcome the pandemic and regain the normality of social life”, in addition to promoting public policies from the investment and innovation.
The Department of Health will receive the largest amount from the Basque Government, with more than a third of the total budget. A) Yes, 8 out of every 10 euros of the Basque Government budget will be allocated to social spending and the health expenditure per person stands at 1984 euros compared to 1902 euros last year, “which keeps the Basque Country in the leading positions in public spending in the entire State,” said Sagardui.
Of the Osakidetza budget, two thirds will be dedicated to personnel expenses and 107 million to investments for the modernization and updating of infrastructures, which represents a significant increase compared to 2021, 37 million more.
In Álava, € 18 million will be allocated for actions at the Rioja Alavesa University Hospital and OSI, while in Bizkaia the investments will be made with € 24 million in the Bilbao-Basurto, Cruces, Galdakao OSIs, the mental health network and various centers of health.
In Gipuzkoa, 22 million will be allocated to investments in the Donostia University Hospital, cell therapy equipment and the remodeling of the surgical blocks of the OSI Bidasoa and Goierri Alto Urola.
A good part of Osakidetza’s growth, Sagardui explained, will be taken by Primary Care, with 20.5 million, which will be dedicated mainly to equipment and also to personnel, with the consolidation of new places through a new OPE.
The funds for research have been budgeted at 25.2 million (+15.5%) and actions in the social and health field will be deployed with an amount of 35 million (+13.9%) to advance a new model of assistance that intensify care in the community and homes and strengthen places for people with serious mental disorders.
Sagardui has assured that these accounts will allow to continue with the lines of action established in the Strategic Framework of the Department of Health 2021-2024 that go through “placing the person at the center of the action, for the prevention and promotion of health, for the sustainability of the health system, for the commitment of health professionals and for advancing in health research “.
