MEF will alleviate the tax burden for mypes affected by the protests

The head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Alex Contreras, reported this Wednesday that some temporary measures will be applied to reduce the tax burden on mypes, especially those linked to activities affected by the protests at the national level.

“They will not affect the (tax) collection for the year, but they will provide relief to mypes that have not been able to sell their products in the markets,” he noted.

Contreras emphasized that one of the proposals aims to make deduction deposits more flexible — which are the payments that help the seller generate funds to meet their tax obligations — and it is also being evaluated to extend the tax payment obligation for up to two months.

The minister pointed out that they will continue working with portfolios such as the Ministry of Production and Foreign Trade and Tourism to help affected businesses.
