The report presented this Monday at the Ministry of Labor establishes four possible uploads that start from that 4.6% that would place the SMI at 1046 euros.

After this rise, two intermediate scenarios of 5.4% to 1,054 euros and 6.6% to 1,066 euros are proposed, to end at that rise of 8.2% to 1082 euros.

The second vice president of the Spanish Government, Yolanda Diazhas defended that the increases in the SMI are a “success story”, since they have proven to be a “very effective tool” that does not produce the “theorized effects” that it entailed job destruction.

“The SMI does not negatively affect job creation,” said Díaz, who has avoided positioning himself on a figure while waiting to meet with the social agents.

The vice president has advanced that on Wednesday she will convene employers and unions to listen to their contributions before making a decision on the SMI “remembering the mandate of article 27” of the Workers’ Statute, which asks to take into account factors such as inflation, productivity, the participation of wage income in the economy and the Economic Situation.
