What will be the vehicle-related services that the SRI will temporarily suspend?

The Internal Revenue Service (SRI) reported that between December 30, 2022 and January 15, 2023 at least three services on vehicle issues will be suspended. This is because the entity will allocate that time to configure the vehicle taxes for the 2023 fiscal period. In this sense, citizens must take precautions to carry out the procedures they consider urgent.

The services related to the vehicle registration that will be suspended are:

  • Attention to requests related to the vehicle registration service (face-to-face and online channels).
  • “Vehicles” section of the SRI Online portal, of the web portal www.sri.gob.ec.
  • Payment of taxes administered by the SRI and other items that make up the registration.

Additionally, only until December 22, 2022, the following channels will be active for the entry of procedures related to the vehicle registration:

  • Face-to-face procedures entered through the Secretariat at the national level (creation of categories, backs of contracts, information requirements, among others).
  • Procedures entered by SRI Online from the web portal www.sri.gob.ec (creation of categories, back of contracts, updates of vehicle characteristics, exemptions, among others).

On the other hand, the values of vehicle taxes administered by the SRI corresponding to the fiscal period 2022 may be paid without interest until December 29, 2022.
