The assembly of workers of the company, made up of more than 60 people, has agreed to call 24-hour strike days in the coming weeks, given the “zero willingness of the company to guarantee wage increases above the CPI”.
The ELA union has reported this decision by the workers of the company, which provides daily service to more than 6000 users of municipalities in the Enkarterri region (Muskiz, Sopuerta, Galdames, Truzios, Zalla, Gueñes, Alonsotegi, Okondo, Gordexola or Artziniega) and connects with the Cruces and Basurto hospitals, and with the UPV/EHU campus.
ELA has thus denounced the “closeness” of the company, which refuses to “guarantee salary improvements that will ensure the purchasing power of the workforce.”
“In the same way, we have to demand from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia that values the essential and public service of Bizkaibus, that does not allow these concessionaires that maintain significant benefits to continue speculating with the workers and citizens who continue to need a quality public transport service”, he added.
Finally, ELA has recalled that the workers of Ezkerraldea Meatzalde Buswill carry out partial stoppages on the days December 13, 15 and 19from 06:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
