The North American currency is located at S/ 3.7045, according to the Bloomberg portal. In the parallel market, the exchange rate is S/3,680 for sale and S/3,730 for purchase.
The exchange rate closed this Thursday, April 7, at S/ 3.7070, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). This amount represents a depreciation of 0.4% compared to Wednesday’s close, when it stood at S/ 3.7220.
Economically, from BBVA Research updated their estimates for the Peruvian economy in 2022 downwards, to the point that they now expect it to close at 2% (previously it was 2.3%). By 2023 it was reduced from 3 to 2.8%.
A different case was that of the World Bank. The chief economist of this institution for Latin America and the Caribbean, William Maloney, who detailed that in the Peruvian market, after the growth of 13.3% registered in 2021, it is expected that this year it will grow 3.4% and for the following, 3.1%. It is worth emphasizing that the previous forecast was 3.2%.
