The general secretary of the UGT Euskadi is not “surprised” by the situation that the OSI of Donostialdea is experiencing. “We have been demanding dialogue for some time to find a way out of this very complicated situation,” he said.
The crisis unleashed in the OSI of Donostialdea is the “result of a series of decisions that have been taken in recent years.” This has been stated by the general secretary of the UGT Euskadi, Raul Arza, in an interview on Radio Euskadi. As he has said, “the situation is unsustainable” and Osakidetza “cannot superimpose political criteria on technical ones.”
The Minister of Health of the Basque Government, Gotzone Sagardui, yesterday attributed the dismissals in the management of the OSI Donostialdea to “difficulties in sharing a coordinated vision”. In Arza’s opinion, “one must have critical opinions in order to improve the service.” In this sense, she accuses the Department of Health of “lack of empathy with the workers” and of acting “with unilateral decisions.”
Asked if Sagardui should resign, the leader of the UGT Euskadi has maintained that as a union representative it is not for him to talk about the resignation of the Minister of Health, but he has demanded to “recover the dialogue” to solve the “complicated situation” that Osakidetza is experiencing. “Eventuality, workloads… the council is turning a deaf ear to a situation that requires dialogue”, he pointed out.
In this sense, Arza recalled that the Basque Country has the worst temporality data “of all the public administrations of the Spanish State”. Likewise, he has criticized that Osakidetza is carrying out the consolidation processes unilaterally without counting on the unions.
