Year-on-year inflation in the euro area dropped six tenths in November – up 10% – compared to the 10.6% registered the previous month, which marked a new all-time high, according to preliminary data published today by Eurostat. The Spanish state is the common currency partner with the lowest inflation taking into account the harmonized CPI rate that Eurostat uses to make the data from the eurozone countries comparable, whose inflation was 6.6%.

It is, therefore, the first drop in year-on-year inflation in the euro area since June 2021, when it stood at 1.9% and began to rise until reaching levels never seen before that exceeded double digits.

For his part, underlying inflation, which excludes energy products, food, tobacco and beverages as they have a more volatile behaviour, remained stable in November by 5%.
