Following the state of emergency and curfew decree that the Government issued for the provinces of Esmeraldas and Guayas, Petroecuador announced that it also took measures in line with these provisions to guarantee normal production at the Esmeraldas Refinery and the integrity of the technical personnel that works on the premises.

In this way, the state company indicated that actions were coordinated with the Army and the National Police for the entry of personnel to work hours that are fulfilled within the curfew, with due protection and authorizations.
“The entrances to the Refinery and the camps are militarized and the tours of the personnel, under the care of the forces of order, to guarantee that there are no novelties that alter the work schedules in the refining of fuels of this important operational facility, whose production supplies a large part of the national market,” the state oil company explained in a statement.
