More than 62 million euros of the 103.8 of real investment receiving Navarre in the State’s general budgets (PGE) of 2023 are destined to the project of the High-speed train. The Autonomous Community, in the accounts approved this week by the Government of Spain, receives the second lowest amount of investment in the Spanish State, although it is the community in which the investment has grown the most compared to 2022. “They are public accounts that offer stability and security to families”, affirmed the delegate of the Government of Spain, José Luis Arasti, this Friday.

In this context, Navarra will receive 0.8% of the planned investment in the PGE for the autonomous communities, thus surpassing only La Rioja; however, the approved accounts foresee 27 million more investment than the previous ones.

The budget project, Arasti has specified, allocates 103.8 million euros of real investment to Navarra, to which are added 15 million capital transfers to the Provincial Government for the works of the 2+1 road of the N-121- A.

The main investment corresponds to rail transport and, in particular, to the High-Speed Train, with a budget of 71.03 million euros, of which 62.89 are allocated to the Zaragoza-Pamplona-Y Vasca high-speed line, with more than 8.1 million euros for the TEN-T corridors (trans-European corridors).

The PGE, in the words of the delegate of the Spanish Government, “further strengthen public services as a necessary element to achieve inclusive growth and strengthen the middle and working classes, in addition to protecting the most vulnerable groups”.

The second biggest game, with almost 20 million, will go to water infrastructure. The Canal de Navarra does not have a budget allocation for 2023.
