Price of the LPG bottle again exceeds S / 50 in Tacna and Moquegua

The price of a 10-kilo bottle of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) registered an increase of up to seven suns this week in the departments of Tacna and Moquegua. Just a month and a half ago, consumers had enjoyed a drop in price after several months of continuous hikes.

In Tacna, the distribution companies of Solgas and Llamagas reported that the price of the ball fluctuates between 54 and 53 soles. Last month, the cost was 49 or 47 soles.

In Moquegua, Limagas distributors detailed that the ball went from 51 to 57 soles. The distributor of the company Zeta Gas raised its rate from 52 to 57 soles.

In both regions, the distributors give the same argument: the increase comes from the bottling plants. These in turn indicate that Pluspetrol, which operates in Peru, is the one that applies the increase to the price of the LPG it sells.

Since the end of 2020 the gas balloon has had rises. Even the Peruvian government tried to stop this situation by including LPG to the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund.
