Minister Kurt Burneo held a meeting this Friday the 12th with the president and members of the Board of Directors of the Congress of the Republic, with a view to maintaining fluid and permanent communication with the Legislature, in addition to working together to regain investor confidence. for the benefit of the Peruvian economy.
“The Executive and Congress must find a way so that the economy can continue its recovery process and not be affected by other factors. And an extremely important aspect is the recovery of the confidence of economic agents. Reactivation is a common good. The promotion of the growth and development of the country are tasks that commit us all: powers and institutions of the State, private sector, citizens”, expressed Burneo, according to a press release from the MEF.
The head of Economy and Finance added that the economic reactivation will be achieved with the participation of all the actors. “The MEF cannot be an isolated entity. We will listen to all parties. We have started these coordination meetings with representatives of business associations, unions and civil society. Now we are in the Legislature and we will continue to seek to agree on joint work, since the common objective must be the well-being of the entire Peruvian population”, he stressed.
Likewise, he stressed that only with public and private investment will economic development be generated that will make it possible to close the social gaps that exist in health and education, as well as other aspects that impact the quality of life of citizens.
He also recalled that, in the coming weeks, the Executive Power will present to the Legislature the Draft Law on the Public Budget, Financial Balance and Public Sector Indebtedness for the year 2023, which will collect the demand of the different sectors and which will prioritize the needs most pressing, but always safeguarding fiscal stability.
“This is a proposal that we will coordinate here in Congress and we trust that, with responsibility, given the international situation and the needs of the country, we will reach agreements for the general welfare, maintaining the macroeconomic and fiscal balance,” he said.
