The Minister of Labor and Employment, Idoia Mendia, has presented the details of the budget of 936 million euros that her department will handle next year.
The Basque Government is going to promote, together with the UPV / EHU, a chair of medicine at work and will create the Basque Observatory for the Prevention of Occupational Risks.
The Second Vice-President and Minister of Labor and Employment, Idoia Mendia, presented on Tuesday the master lines of her department’s budget for 2022, which amounts to 936.227.285 euros, to which 48,590,000 of European funds will be added.
It is about 0.8% less than this year’s budget, for something “understandable”, according to Mendia, since they have planned 35 million less for the RGI due to the anticipation of fewer applicants given the improvement in the economic situation, and 4.3 million less to complement the ERTE.
One of the most important increases in the budget is that allocated to the Basque Institute for Occupational Safety and Health-Osalan, 10.4% more, up to 17.2 million euros.
“It is one of the most important increases because health and safety is an absolute priority for this Department,” said Mendia.
