Unions will not dialogue with workers and the Government until the union strengthening is annulled

A week ago, various unions such as Confiep, ComexPerú, Adex, the National Society of Industries (SNI) and the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), among others, announced that they were going to suspend their participation in the National Labor Council ( CNTPE) by way of rejection after modifying the Regulations of the Collective Labor Relations Law (DS 014-2022-TR) — which strengthens union activity in our country — as well as the regulation of labor outsourcing in nuclear activities of a company (DS 001-2022-TR).

In that sense, they ratified this Thursday that as long as both regulations are not repealed, they will not participate in the dialogue processes that take place in this tripartite working group together with the government authorities and representatives of the national workforce, alleging that “they regulated by unilateral decisions of the Government” and therefore, there was no consensus.

The unions assure, for example, that the decree that updates the role of the unions “are not really adjustments because it contains many provisions that infringe, distort or have no support in the law and even the Constitution.”

Thus, they conclude that the well-known rigidity of Peruvian labor regulation will be accentuated and it will be further disassociated from the large majority sectors of workers without rights and mired in informality.
