The Basque Government will allocate 25 million euros to support projects in the primary sector


Arantza Tapia has presented the Handitu program within the Economic Rescue Fund to deal with the effects of the war in Ukraine. The initiatives will be related to the transformation, development and marketing of food or forest products.

The Basque Government has approved this Tuesday the call for aid to carry out large investment projects for the transformation and marketing of agricultural, livestock and forestry products. To do this, start the program Handitu inside of the Economic Rescue Fund to deal with the effects of the war in Ukraine.

The aid will be financed with €25 millionand are aimed at investments of more than 6 million euros.

The initiatives will be related to the processing, development and marketing of food or forest products. They will be projects that allow driving and transforming local and regional economies, and promoting diversification and the generation of new business opportunities, as well as the creation of large technological infrastructures.

The deadline for submitting applications will be one month from the day following the publication of the Order in the Official Gazette, by accessing the electronic headquarters of the Basque Government website.
