The self-employed of the Spanish State will contribute by real income from 2023


Self-employed associations and the Ministry of Social Security have reached an agreement on the new Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers. The agreed proposal lowers the minimum fee to 200 euros in 2025 for the self-employed with incomes of less than 670 euros per month.

The self-employed will contribute according to their “real income” in the Spanish State. One of the main points is the new quotation system that el Ministry of Social Security of the Government of Spain who drives Jose Luis Escriva has managed to agree with the social agents and the main self-employed organizations.

The consensus document, which yesterday received the support of the UPTA and UATAE self-employed associations, has been ratified this morning by the board of directors of the Spanish self-employed association ATA (integrated into the CEOE). with the new Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA)self-employed workers will contribute based on what they earn, like employees, and not what they choose, which means that the majority pay as little as possible.

“It has cost, but now it is! We have reached a preliminary agreement this morning on a new contribution system for the self-employed and their benefits,” said the president of ATA, Lorenzo Amor, on his twitter account this morning, after managing to save some “fringes pending” that prevented the agreement.

As agreed, the price tables begin with a fee of 230 euros in 2023 for the self-employed with net income of less than 670 euros. In 2024, the fee will drop to 225 euros and will be reduced to €200 in 2025.

The second tranche will include self-employed workers with net earnings of more than 670 euros and less than or equal to 900 euros. In this case, the fee will be 260 euros in 2023, 250 euros in 2024 and 220 in 2025.

For the self-employed with monthly net income above 900 euros and less than 1,166.70, next year’s fee will be 275 euros. In 2024, it will go to 267 euros and in 2025, to 260 euros.

The last section will be for those who earn more than 6,000 euros. In this case, the fees will start at 500 euros in 2023, to rise to 530 euros in 2024 and end at 590 euros in 2025.

The self-employed will be able to contribute during the three years of the agreement (2023, 2024 and 2025) for a base between the one that corresponds to them and the maximum of the system, as well as the option of maintaining the current base next year even if it is higher than the determined by their yields. The new quota range will come into force in 2023, and workers will be able to change their tranche according to their net income every two months.
